Outbeat Now! – January 23, 2011

Tonight, we hosted a completely live show with some incredible guests.  Jeff Basham talked with Ted Ellquist about his return to Sonoma County and a new social group is formed called, “Out and About Santa Rosa.”  This is a group for adult members of the LGBT community to meet up for hikes, bike rides, dinners, and other kinds of social gathers.  Learn more by going to checking out their web page at www.meetup.com/Out-and-About-Santa-Rosa/.  On Outbeat Youth, Greg Miraglia talked with Joey Abrego and Julia Caplan from Montgomery High School and Austin Bellach from Maria Carillo High School.  These incredible young people talked about what it’s like to have come out in middle school and high school.  All of them have been well received by their family and friends.  Joey told us about the drama department’s upcoming trip to Scotland and their fund raising efforts.  Learn more at www.montgomerydrama.com.  Austin told us about his role as the president of the school’s Gay Straight Alliance.  They have 35 to 40 members!  It was a great show, so check it out.
