Outbeat Extra – July 31, 2011

Gary Carnivele and Greg Miraglia hosted this month’s special edition of Outbeat Extra and talked with local LGBT politicians about their experience in public office.  City of Cotati Mayor Janet Orchard talked about role as a member of the City Council and now as mayor of the city.  She explained how Cotati was pro-active making budget cuts several years ago and how the City is now in a financially good position.  Maddy Hirshfield, District Coordinator for Assemblyman Wesbro talked about her role and shared some thoughts about redistricting. Both women have extensive experience working in local and state government.  They shared their perspective as members of the LGBT community and their work with various LGBT issues over the years.
